If you do not ever want to live your life overworked, underpaid, and unhappy; you need to change your mind about the concept of success that you have always had. Success is relative. You need to know what success means to you; you need to know how to measure success for yourself.
Proverbs 15:22
“Plans go wrong for lack of advice;…”

Success will not come because you are good at your job or because you work hard enough. There are many out there who are also good and work as hard. To stand at the edge of the competitive edge, you need to be able to predict the next move in your job or business and make yourself better prepared to handle the move before it comes around:
2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”

It is never too late to make a move towards success. Success comes at any age. You can measure success for yourself at any age by defining what success means to you. The knowledge, experience, relationships, and resilience you have built are more important than the age you are at in pursuing success.

You do not need to be stressed out to achieve success. Stress can make you risk achieving less and can ruin the relationships you are trying to build for success. Don’t gauge success by how much you work, rather define what success means to you and measure the achievement of the “meaning”.
Psalm 127:2
“It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”

You do not need to play politics to be successful. There is a general belief that there is no success without playing politics in your deeds and that all politics is a “dirty game”.
Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.”

But remember that generally, like in most organizations, there are people who are lined up on our paths to help us succeed and their decisions are made based on what they see, believe, and perceive to be your value. So instead of playing politics with people around you, take the time to build/increase your worth by building your personal brand, building relationships, and networking.
